Withstood a hurricane

Still working great after two years. Ugly. But it works. One of my metal gutters kept coming loose, but this one stayed in place even through a Category 5 hurricane (still confuses me, but it didn't budge.) If it was camouflaged by bushes (which I suggest), I wouldn't I don't mind the looks. But in appearance it is somewhat irritating to the eyes. But functionally it cannot be surpassed.

Pros
  • This product is a great value
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Will not connect together

I've been using Flex-a-Spout extensions for years with no problems. Always very easy to install, does not leak, withstands multiple seasons of intense heat and cold. They recently had to be replaced as they became brittle after ten years of use. Expected a quick and easy job to install the new ones but instead encountered great difficulty trying to wire them up. In the old version, one end was slightly larger than the other, making it easy to connect them together. No longer! Both ends are now…

Pros
  • Designed to accept 2" x 3" and 3" x 4" spout
Cons
  • Everything OK

Not for heavy use, best for building materials

Based on other reviews calling it 'very stiff' I was wrong to conclude it was a strong material that stays in shape to direct water from gutter to gutter rain barrel. No, that is not so. Once opened, it already shows loosening of the accordion's joints. It's more like a thin tube. In our dry climate and in bright sunshine, the material ages within a few months. It would be useful for draining rainwater off a foundation, or perhaps making a short electrical connection between two rigid links…

Pros
  • Easy to install on drain pipe
Cons
  • No instructions

The next day we had a good steady rain and when I went outside.

I ordered 3 pieces, one for each of the 3 downpipes. After struggling with all 3 to lengthen them, 2 were too short for the distance they had to travel so I ordered 2 more to put together for more length. The next day we had good consistent rain and when I went outside to see if they were working it wasn't raining. Instead, the rain just sat inside them and drew back, defeating their purpose. They don't seem to be able to stack horizontally and chaining them together makes chaining worse. I had

  • Easy downpipe installation

They stretch much easier. You can start the process by downloading the .

It does what it says on the tin - extends the downspout to the drain where you want it. As for the stretch - I needed 4 pieces. I'm small and not very strong so I almost gave up after reading reviews that said it was very difficult to expand. The first part seemed a bit complicated to me, but I managed to do it myself with a little effort and time. The other 3 pieces sat in the sun for a while before I resumed this project. They stretch much easier. You can start the process by bending a piece…

Pros
  • Retractable design for easier connection and installation
Cons
  • Lots of accessories
