Use in hot desert areas

This exhibition quality product is well suited for cool and temperate climates. However, when the temperature rises above 115 degrees, the 330 CFM output power cannot handle the mustard.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Frequency

good and quiet on fans

nice and quiet, works well with an adjustable controller I bought separately. does move a bit, the jeep seems to run cooler, wish there were slots in the brackets, would be even better

Special chains only

I bought this fan and installed it on my jeep tj. It works really well when you're just sitting idle, but at any speed over 40mph it severely restricts airflow and the engine starts to overheat. I sent the fan back to have it flexed a bit and got a full refund. 4 stars for build quality and money back. BUT this fan does NOT work well at highway speeds.

Flex-a lite Electric fan 485

The fan was for Jeep Wangler. I had a previous flex-a-lite fan that made much less noise. This fan is much better and I am very happy with it. The instructions were good until I got to step 8. To place the thermostat temperature sensor in the radiator as in step 8, I had to remove the fan assembly from steps 1 through 7, install the sensor, and then reinstall the fan assembly. Sounds easy, but it took another hour or two. Therefore, before installation, consider how the sensor will be installed

  • A lot of positive emotions

Great product for engine cooling and air conditioning

I have a 400 Chevy SB in my 1991 YJ (worst choice on the planet btw). I've had constant cooling issues living in the high desert of eastern Oregon. I ended up putting in a factory clutch fan as the only way to control it. On the track, however, it was useless. So I bit the bullet and installed this electric fan and hooked it up to a battery. The only issue I had with installing it was that the fan was hanging about 2 inches below the heatsink. So to get maximum thrust through the cooler I ended

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Vulgarity

This fan will blow your mind and so will the heat.

I rebuilt the cooling system on a 2000 Wrangler 4.0 Sport. This included a high flow water pump, high flow thermostat housing, thermostat (195 left) and some hoses. I left the OEM heatsink last to swap out if needed. This turned out to be unnecessary due to the 485. This was done before the original cheap fan was used, so I think this rating is more legitimate given that both fans in the test had these benefits. I started with a cheap fan from AZ with 1100 CFM (at best). He could barely stay…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
