I loved the concept of this machine but the scanned images are TERRIBLE. In any position, flick with the top and bottom glass and flip the image sideways on the top glass. see for yourself. Not good. I don't know if I would use it now. Pictures. NO.

I see this is no longer available from Revain and it's a shame. I compared the quality of the scans from this and my CanoScan 8800F and they are comparable. Fast and qualitative, but with a nuance. The scanner outputs the specified size (5x7 it seems) so you'll have to manually edit the white space. It doesn't have to be on the table - I can hold it in one hand while scanning - my thumb keeps the lid firmly in place. There is a marked corner on the glass surface to align the photo.
