I see this is no longer available from Revain and it's a shame. I compared the quality of the scans from this and my CanoScan 8800F and they are comparable. Fast and qualitative, but with a nuance. The scanner outputs the specified size (5x7 it seems) so you'll have to manually edit the white space. A bit frustrating, but the ease of use and speed of the scanner doesn't make editing that big of a deal for me. Batteries drain fairly quickly, but the auto shutoff saves some power. I scanned 1600 photos in a couple of days and had to change the batteries twice but that was with the 10 minute auto shut off time. I've now set it to 1 minute and although it turns off quickly, my photos are queuing to be constantly scanned. Great product, too bad it's no longer available from Revain (or elsewhere it seems). Look for them on eBay as they usually have them in stock.
