Great addition to my husband's tool box!

To be honest I wasn't sure what it was when I saw it (of course I've been on foot since) so I asked my husband. He was immediately hooked and told me that this was one of the things he had wanted for a long time but couldn't justify buying because he had a professional multimeter. Given his excitement, I had to give it to him. In hindsight he should have bought it a year ago because it saves a lot of time and frankly it's safer than opening a potentially active terminal or contact just to see…

I find it suitable, but the high sensitivity mode is useless to me.

Please watch the video. This sensor does what I wanted, which is to save me from the 120 volt tingling, but I found that the high sensitivity mode turned off just walking around the house. Not to mention getting closer to the wires in this mode. I'd say it COULD be my Wi-Fi and WEMO switches, but I doubt it. I shouldn't let that kind of tension hang in the air. These devices are capacitive pairs and THEY are part of the substrate or insulator. That said, it's likely that charging will happen as

Well designed, multiple features that "update " my existing NCVD

I already have a non-contact CAT III voltage detector. It's fine for most applications, but in some (e.g. next to a service panel or feeder) I won't use it. I will be using my CAT IV certified DMM again which requires a physical connection. So I was glad that this device is rated for CAT-IV 1000V and its design is very well thought out. Obviously, the FLIR designers asked and answered two questions: 1. What features are useful in a non-contact voltage probe? What are the disadvantages of…
