Third time using this lamp since purchase.

Used this light for the third time since purchase and it exploded all over my turtle area. I've had issues with rapid burnout in the past, but that's unacceptable. Definitely switch brands.

Pros
  • Available in 50w, 75w, 100w, 150w and 250w models.
Cons
  • Very expensive

Pure horror! I bought it with 100W.

Pure horror 😱! I bought this for 100w for my turtle habitat 🐢🐢. I got it on a Friday and by Monday night it started smoking and giving off a burning plastic smell! From then on it never worked again! A totally serious robbery that wasn't worth $15+! WHAT A SCAM!😈

Pros
  • Since this lamp does not emit light in the visible light spectrum, it can be used at night without any negative effects
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

short lamp life (250W)

These 250 watt bulbs suck! They keep burning way too fast. I don't know if that's all Fluker, but the 250 watts definitely suck. The Zoo Med 100W and 150W bulbs I have used last much longer. On average, 100 watt Zoo meds last 3-4 times longer than the Fluker 250. Worse, the Fluker 250 is a lot more expensive than the Zoo meds I've bought. Smaller capacities can be good, but be warned, stay away from 250s like they're Haribo sugar-free jelly beans.

Pros
  • This is 75W.
Cons
  • Big and bulky
