Good product PH above 8 to 7.0 after about 48 hours

Good product PH above 8 to 7.0 after about 48 hours. First I put a bin liner on the filter, lowering the PH a bit, but I put the bin liner between the charcoal and Bio-Max, let the PH drop quickly, and the nitrates are as stable as last test, mostly not. I will remove the message pouch after installing PH Stable and then reuse it. For 29 gallons I used about 100 grams of peat. Don't waste your money on PH down liquids from the markets, these branded liquids do nothing, didn't help my PH. My tap

Slowly lowering the PH

I had a serious PH problem and needed to make the water a little more acidic. My tank really wasn't big enough for a piece of driftwood, so this was the next best option. I put some of it in a bowl, rinsed it well and put it in my HOB filter. It didn't quite lower the pH to a neutral 7, but that's because I didn't add enough. He reduced it from 7.8 to 7.2 or so. Now everything is stable. The fish are happy and the algae problem is gone. I can add more later if needed, but don't want to riskโ€ฆ

Significantly reduced KH and GH

I bought this because the water here is INCREDIBLY hard and even buying pre-filtered water doesn't do much. So I did a little experiment. I threw 2 tablespoons into a mesh bag and basically let it "cool" like a tea bag in a 5 gallon jug of room temperature water while I was at work checking before and after. According to the API GH/KH test, both GH and KH dropped from 125.3 ppm to 71.6 ppm in about 9 hours. It was still in the water and hadn't met my fish yet (I was concerned it would reduceโ€ฆ

It's amazing

It's so amazing. The water where I live is hard. Even after filtering. I have tried all chemicals and they are great for nitrates and pH but not for water softening. I googled what to use and peat moss came up. I add it to every aquarium in my filters and the difference is really noticeable. All of my fish seem much happier and their colors are so vibrant. My poor blood red parrot cichlid has started developing black spots due to poor water quality. Even 48 hours after putting it in theโ€ฆ

Don't overdose. Best in Fish and Aquatic Animals Category

So worth buying if you have high pH and generally hard water. So there is no dosage in this pack. After watching and reading I can tell you why not all water is the same. You can go to Washington state and get tap water with a pH of 6.8, and then go to Georgia and get cement hard tap water with a pH of 7.8. So I would suggest this for a 20 gallon aquarium with relatively hard water and a pH of 7.8, about 1/2 cup, but this can vary from filter to filter and water parameters. So if your water isโ€ฆ

Terrible questions to ask me to appreciate this.

Value = Fluval has always been too proud of its product. Ease of use = Pushed to the limit, no actual instructions, no website listing, no phone, no address, no information. Why only an external mains filter? It's not even logical. STRETCH? Do you want to be considered for something again? Stretch Armstrong? Limousine? what are you talking about now It works out? I have to say that this will solve your H2O problems in the long run without a doubt. I'm usually fine with dry and inappropriateโ€ฆ

A little goes a long way

We have very hard water where I live. I bought this product because I wanted to lower the pH in my 5 gallon betta tank and didn't want to use chemical buffers or buy a reverse osmosis filter if I could help. I've tried flaked almonds but they didn't do anything. I placed about a tablespoon of peat granules in a mesh bag between the sponge and bio-beads in my HOB filter and overnight the pH dropped from 8.4 to 6.6 (approx). Too much too fast so I took out all but a teaspoon of granules and evenโ€ฆ

The only product that has successfully reduced my GH, KH and PH

I have had trouble neutralizing exceptionally hard water with other products such as the Water Softener Pad and PH Down. The water was so hard that the PH Down would have been completely useless. The water softening pad was too slow for my hard water, even after a few recharges, and my fish were showing signs of stress. I added about 100 grams of Fluval Peat to my 75 gallon filter bag and within 24 hours I noticed my fish were playing and becoming more active. GH, KH and PH decrease at a rateโ€ฆ
