OK for an exercise bike

I bought these for my wife to use on her Cycle Ops exercise bike. They are definitely not stable for outdoor road or mountain bike use. They are also difficult to remove from pedals without clips.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Almost OK

Functional but heavy with minimal grip

These pedals look like they're made out of painted metal, but they have a lighter matte finish. (I ordered pink and they are HOT pink). They fit and work, but are very heavy and don't stretch. I add duct tape to mine as it's a cheap solution.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • So far so good

Very handy with some limitations

They work well but stack height needs to be considered. They increase pedal height by at least 1/4 inch, plus road shoes are likely to have much thicker soles than cycling shoes. For the occasional short ride this is probably not a problem, but for longer rides you will need to adjust the saddle. .

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Nothing

Tons of scope for parts and components

They appear to be well made and I think they look really cool. But with the force the pedal exerts on the cleat, it just creates a lot of play, even if your SPDs are tight. I really wanted to like them and technically they work but you always feel like they're about to jump off the pedal. I've never had them accidentally pop out, but it was very easy to just kick them off with my foot while pedaling. Just going to the grocery store made me nervous.

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Packaging is ugly

They work very well for the most part, but I .

For the most part they work very well but I have found that other reviewers are correct when they say that removing them can be very difficult. I usually just use my feet (in regular shoes) to take them off. It takes a lot of strength. I bought a long allen wrench thinking it would make them easier to remove but it doesn't. I use Shimano SPD-SL cleats - not sure if they're particularly hard to get off the pedals or anything like that.

Pros
  • Handy Stuff
Cons
  • Works

Very good quality but not great results for my use.

I'm glad I bought these original, innovative products and not cheap imported imitations. They are durable and built to stand the test of time. However, when I use them on Crank Brother Egg pedals, they come off too easily when I'm riding in trainers or Crocs. Even with later release clips at 20 degrees they sometimes loosen up. Pedaling carelessly can be dangerous as the pedals can "float" under your foot.

Cons
  • New competitors have arrived

They are also very suitable for riding if you don't want to wear them.

I was so excited to use these but when I received them I found I couldn't get up without the pedal leaning forward and my foot falling off (maybe is it just pedals my kind of stupidity). They are also very suitable for cycling if you don't want to wear cycling shoes. It takes a while to get used to putting your foot in (more so than trying to snap your shoe in) as the pedals tip over when not in use due to the extra weight of the pedals.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
