Shop Fons & Porter 7780 Retractable Tape Measure, 5/8 x 120-Inch - Quality Measuring Tool Review

Good quality tape. I like that the zero starts at the beginning of the tape. The only minor issues were that it seems quite heavy and secondly the sticky glue used to secure the tape inside the container is totally unnecessary and very difficult to separate from the tape. I won't be returning it due to this small issue, but I'm wondering if other brand names like Singer fare better.

My husband recently picked this out and bought it for me and I've used it a number of times since! I really like that I don't have to wrap the measuring tape after use. Lol One thing I learned, which may or may not be obvious, is that when you pull the band out, you can press the button on the side while you're doing it and you won't hear an annoying click. 😂 The hardest part is keeping my kids away from him as they love to press the button to watch him clean up!

This is the second Fons and Porter 120 inch tape that I own. The first has disappeared. The current one worked fine for two weeks, then the spring mechanism broke and doesn't work at all. A long tape is needed and I really liked the first tape I had and used for many years, but I still haven't found its location. long line :(

I was torn when evaluating this tape measure and ended up giving it 4 stars to keep it neutral. The quality of the material and mechanism is really excellent, very durable, with a smooth pull/retract. But when I finally got my hands on it, I also noticed that it doesn't actually have the usual tape measure markings you'd expect, with all the divisions for 1/16th, 1/8th, etc. there's a simplified version of that inch on one side and yards on the other and no other markings.
