Didn't fit me - tools and equipment

Not exactly what I needed. It didn't go through what it was supposed to do and it didn't have the pin in the middle that the machine needed.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Available in white only

Seems to work but is not a Foxwell product

Seems to work on my 1999 328i but is not a genuine Foxwell product. In fact, it says "Universal" on the box. The seller should not promote it as "FOXWELL Obd2 Female to 20pin Extension Convert Adapter OBD1 to OBD II Cable (11 inch)" because it is not really a Foxwell product.

Pros
  • Trial for one year
Cons
  • Out of style

Worked like a charm on my 01 Z3

I plugged it into the pacman port in the engine bay and was able to use my code reader to turn off the airbag light. The lights went out when I removed my seats to detail the car. Connection was easy, the product seems reliable and I can now communicate with other computers in the car that are not accessible via the normal ODB port.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Works with E39 M5 on Diagnostic Test & Measurement Tools

Product as advertised. I have an early E39 M5 (release 6/2000) and was not able to use the full functionality of a recently purchased Foxwell code reader. I was at the BMWCCA Foundation "Foundationfest" in Spartanburg, SC and some big BMW enthusiasts told me that (1) my M5 has a round connector in the engine bay like an OBD1 car and (2) the round connector has to be used with Foxwell code reader. I ordered this adapter and now I have the full functionality of the Foxwell code reader!

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Nothing

Required for some BMW models, even if they have an OBD2 connection!

I've been desperately trying to get my foxwell scanner to work on my 2000 X5. I was able to read the engine codes from the OBD2 port but the scanner couldn't communicate with other modules even though it said it supports my BMW. I was baffled why it could see the CEL codes but not SRS/SAS/etc. Turns out some BMWs came with both OBD2 *and* a "PacMan" port in the engine bay! Serious? Yup.AND.BMW only diagnoses through the 20-pin PacMan port, so reading codes from the OBD2 port is not possible. So

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • can't remember but there was something
