Very sharp and stable.

I really like this bit set. As many reviews say, they are very difficult to remove from the case. Removing them and enlarging the hole with a 1/2 bit really helps, but they are still very difficult to remove. I push them into the body as little as possible. I think if you use a metric nozzle closest to 1/2 inch you'd have better luck. Unfortunately I don't have one to try. However, using Beats is a pleasure. I haven't used them much yet, but they cut through everything like a hot knife through…

HOW TO REMOVE THE TIPS AND ATTACH THE BOX - (It's easy!)

Freud's tips are amazing. This set was stolen and I suspect the price is lower due to packaging issues. So, do what I did - order a kit and have it fixed in less than 10 minutes! Here's how: First, take a leather glove to remove the bits. Grab the bit with your gloved hand and swing it around as you pull it out. It's comfortable, but it works well and you won't hurt your dentures or fingers. With "lug" bits, you can begin the process by first prying with pliers and then pulling out with a…

Don't knock on the box they come in!

Of course it's Freud and great beats. I give them about 100% thumbs up in every area. However, I have to laugh at people who might deduct a star because of the box?! I agree that the company packs them tightly in the box so there is no risk of them getting damaged, coming out and bumping in transit. Well come on you people make beautiful wooden objects, can you solve the simple problem of bits being too tight to pull out when you want to use them? I will tell you a simple solution which is the…

Great bit good luck unboxing

Bits are great I have used many and the cut quality is as expected from a bit at this price point. . Unfortunately, I almost ended up in the ER trying to get the first part out of the case. The bit was so tight in the collar that I could barely move it, so I put on a pair of leather gloves, just in case, and kept trying to pull the bit out. My grip slipped and the blade sliced through the glove, leaving a fairly deep cut on my finger. After some first aid (and hiding the bloody paper towels…

It's a pain to get good beats out of, it's a box, but it's fixable.

Freud 5pc Rounded Bead Bits with 1/2" Shanks (89-152) Nice set but hard to get out of the box at first but repairable By: Thomas S. October 14th 2017Verified PurchaseWhen it comes to tools you get what you pay for. Sometimes this is very important, but it is important for cutting edges and rotating objects such as milling cutters. Freud is quality. Why it seems so understandable, the bit's metal shaft is in a rubber sleeve that goes into a hole in a wooden pole, but the shaft has an adhesive…

The best starter set of 1/2 " bits.

I have to say Freud makes great blades and bits. Bits /4 and 1/2 inch). And reviews on YT say that 1/2" is better for cooler cuts and slower wood speeds. I already use Freud bits (1/4") for some edge work and have never been unhappy with the results. I also have full sets of 1/4" Bits (Stanley) not bearing, resulting in burn marks along the work. This set costs a little more than some woodworking pages, but these pages charge a lot more for shipping, along with shipping dates in 3-4 weeks. I…

Great beats but bad box.

Great parts but as others have written the box is broken. I have a problem with the production, not the delivery. I find the packaging well done, it came in a box with no damage. Peanut wrap, then four layers of foam wrapped around the body. I broke the transparent plastic. Cracks in corners where screws have been inserted and wood in bit holders rattling around. Now to the bit holders. I used to have one from Freud in the plastic version where I could take out the bits from underneath and take

Very pretty looking bats!

Well, in this day and age, where nobody seems to care anymore where you can buy something expensive online and it often just comes in a bag that says "Made by to China and shipped in a flimsy box, you'll lose all your balls as these bits are packaged bulletproof for the most part. When was the last time you bought quality tools in a wooden box? My set was professionally packed. The box was stable and undamaged. somewhere! The box was then wrapped in about 15 feet of styrofoam and then packed…

Disappointed in rust. More Tips for Finding Bits Easily

After reading the reviews on here I was absolutely ready to go to war to get my bits out of the packaging. When they arrived, I personally experienced Freud's infamous router box from hell and could confirm they were stuck. If you try to take them by hand, you're in for bad times. Rather than drill and ruin the box, or use pliers and risk damaging the bits, I simply sprayed lube (Teflon, a dry film type) into the holes, waited a few minutes, and pulled most of the bits out with little effort.
