Disappointed in rust. More Tips for Finding Bits Easily

After reading the reviews on here I was absolutely ready to go to war to get my bits out of the packaging. When they arrived, I personally experienced Freud's infamous router box from hell and could confirm they were stuck. If you try to take them by hand, you're in for bad times. Rather than drill and ruin the box, or use pliers and risk damaging the bits, I simply sprayed lube (Teflon, a dry film type) into the holes, waited a few minutes, and pulled most of the bits out with little effort. A few things to keep in mind: You should twist the bits back and forth while pulling them out for easy removal. First, any movement of its own volition will speed up the process. Wearing cut resistant gloves helps a lot as most of the exposed surface is sharp. The most problematic part is the first one from the top as there is simply no way to get a good grip. I ended up trying nylon toothed pliers and they slipped out easily due to the grease. Using the above method is safe and will not damage the cutter blades or the storage box. Strangely, I found light rust on many of the shaft ends. When I cleaned them with 3 in 1 oil and a brush, I was surprised (and disappointed) that it was even necessary. Mine may have been very old as it comes with a routing guide DVD. I do not even know.
