🔍 Freud Diablo 10x50x1 Ferrous CERMET CSB, Multi-Purpose, One Size (D1050CF) Review

Worked on an Evolution hacksaw. To be fair this was used to cut a fairly thick 3 inch diameter square tube. After about 20 straight clean cuts we needed a new blade. We've upgraded to a larger metal band saw which is much more efficient and doesn't splatter molten metal. throughout the workshop and emits 140 dB of noise to the neighbours. So this blade will definitely cut. But on the economics I'm not sure unless metal cutting is a random thing on lighter materials.

I bought this blade to use on a miter saw for cutting steel. This works very well. I had to order a Freud adapter from 1" to 5/8" to get this blade to fit my 5/8" shank. So far I've cut some wire shelf posts to a shorter size and some 1/4" x 2" steel rods cut out. I only have three suggestions for using this blade: 1) do it in a place where there are no flammable objects as this blade throws quite a lot of sparks. 2) Wear safety goggles as this blade also ejects a lot of small metal splinters…

Virgin 1st Cut This is a Sturdy blade but has a few issues.1. The rotation is in the opposite direction, the rotation of the knife is directed towards the operator who throws the metal chips at the operator.2. The 1" mandrel fits my Revolution Rage saw perfectly, but the blade needs to be flipped to follow the direction of the table saw. It's a lost feeling not being able to see the Diablo logo on the front of the saw. 16 inches more than the blade width. It leaves creases rather than a perfect

I'm a carpenter and just got a metal lathe and router and I needed a way to cut metal. I could buy one of these little band saws but decided to give it a try and see since I have a 10" table saw and a 10" cutoff saw. I'm sooooo glad I did! I just cut through a 2" piece of 12L14 round steel. Not a tube, but a solid round one. It took a bit (maybe 3 minutes) but the cut was very clean and very smooth. I've cut aluminum, brass, angle iron, sheet steel, sheet aluminum and now 12L14 for a lathe…
