Freud 18 126 Round Shank with Extended Radius Review

You know when you buy Freud cutters you're getting a quality cutter that's well made and will last. This is important if you are making a lot of furniture. There are cheaper bits that are acceptable for a while and then drop off in performance. You get what you pay for. These bits are proven and will last a long time with proper care.

I used a third party router bit for a specific job and always had to do a lot of sanding after completion. And I often had burn marks on the milled surface that had to be removed with a lot of sanding. So I decided to try the Freud tip and see if it worked better and reduced the amount of sanding required. It was like day and night. This bit made a clean cut and was easier to push the wood through the machine. I sanded a bit afterwards, but I could probably do without it. i am sold

Super clean cut, no sticking at approx. Very, VERY sharp! Be careful with this, I cut myself taking it out of the case. I use it to cut sap grooves on a board. First time buying Freud beats, a bit pricey but when you use them you can feel the difference from other decent beats. It slices the nut 1/8 inch deep like butter.
