Description of πŸ”’ 6ft EPDM Rubber Front Rail Seal for ESI

Fills the front rail gap, when mounting a truck cap that has a height gap from .251 to .487. If height of front rail gap is .250 or less, just install one ESI high quality EPDM rubber truck. If height of front rail gap is from .488 to .937 install Front Rail Seal XL (ASIN: B00IUY069S). An ESI original design Front Rail Seal is preferred by professional installers over PVC/foam seals. No need to replace this seal every time your cap is removed.

As expected: Exterior Accessories

Used for the front body rail on my truck to fill the gap under the cover of a newly purchased barrel roll cover. The gap was a little over 1/4" in some places, so I figured it would be best to make a gasket that thick. In hindsight, I probably should have bought a slightly less thick version as it's too narrow. In areas where the gap wasn't that big, it still does its job and keeps water out.

Cons
  • Not the best option

not sticky enough on 4ft sticky side.

Very thick seal. However, the adhesive was only tacky for 2 feet, the remaining 4 feet were completely dry and had lost their adhesive properties. As the seal was packaged on a roll it must be removed and the lack of glue allows for this. I've been trying to get the gasket to sit squarely on the front rail of my truck for about an hour now and still can't.

Pros
  • Load compartment cover Accessories
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Bulkhead Seal that Exceeds Expectations

bought this not enthusiastic about the foam bulkhead seal (cab bed rails) that came with my trunk lid. This worked for my needs on my 16 Silverado and my Tonneau Truxedo, leaving about 8 inches to cover other air gaps. It's enough if you need to compress it a bit, but it doesn't go completely flat either. When the foam fails, you go with it. They give you an alcohol wipe and 3M adhesion primer to apply. This is a professional installation
