It really works: Camera and photo

It's easy to see a big difference when you turn on the stabilization effect. Really works. However, the instructions are really annoying. HOW do you set the interpupillary distance, for example? Called Fuji but their techs couldn't help but they should have called me back. Once they did that, we finally figured out how to rotate the eyepieces to adjust the spacing. HARD to move them!

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Concise instruction manual

IS works well: binoculars and scopes

IS works and works quite well but these are my only IS binoculars so I have no comparison. Some minor inconveniences: 1 No lens cap, for $600 binoculars this is unacceptable. 2 The eyepieces pop out, I really don't understand why? I accidentally put it on and didn't pull the eyepieces out all the way, now the lenses are in oil.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • boring packaging

Large stabilization range, ideal for use on boats

First I bought a pair of Canon 12x36 IS iii. They have a very good look and stabilize normal handshakes very well. They are great for hiking/bird watching. However, I was disappointed to find that they couldn't handle large shakes like viewing from a vehicle like a boat, car, or plane. I ended up buying this pair of Fujinon Techno-Stabi 12x28. They offer much better stabilization for large swinging movements while still handling small impacts. This makes sense since the specified compensation…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Sharpness

Short version of this review - Remarkably compact for its performance, with long battery life due to its narrowness, slightly increased eye relief and exit pupil. Good for those of us who wear glasses, but only a little, leading to some nitpicks. Bigger brother Techno-Stabi was long thought to be great stabilized binoculars, but had two drawbacks that kept me from ever using them. . Not enough eye relief and it was a bit bulky - still compact given its stabilization, magnification and overall…
