Hey these are safety chains. I don't really know how they work until my leash broke so I hope I never have to update this review on how well they work. I can say they look very strong and appear to be very well made. Hook holders that usually fail on others were flawless and easy to use.

grade 70 chains. Not too bad I think. I couldn't get the torque up to spec with the hardware on. The flat washers flex too much to hold the bushing on the bolt. No big deal, went to a hardware store and bought grade 8 bolts, washers and nuts. Gathered and doubled up the flat washers and got 140 ft lbs with no problems. torque. I would give 5 stars if everything was 8 points.

These go well with the Reese Goose Box I have on my saddle bike trailer. I don't know if I missed it in the description but the picture clearly shows that the yellow zinc plating is clear zinc plating from me. I don't care but be aware if for any reason you are interested in a yellow and clear zinc plating. When using these chains in combination with the OEM washer system short safety chain hooks, it may be difficult to close the clasp on these safety chains due to the size of the hooks.
