I have 2 of these shelves and they are perfect. Incredibly durable. The small dark triangles on the front serve as corner protection during shipping. They also help support the front with just hair to keep the shelves tilted back so the weight doesn't push the books forward.

They are very good value for money. We used them to organize our kids playroom after Christmas and they do a great job. They were easy to assemble and even attached to the wall with dowels. They're not top quality, but we were looking for something that could take a beating, have some color and still hold a lot of toys and books without worrying about the cost, and they're perfect for that.

reviews here are ridiculous. 34 year old woman and built it myself in about 40 minutes with a toddler that tested my patience. If you follow the instructions, everything is fine. One reviewer completely turned it on its head. Some others didn't install any back panels at all. If you don't attach the back panels, it will fall apart. They contribute significantly to the stability of the rack. I may be a nuclear physicist, but it doesn't take one person to properly assemble this shelf.

If you do everything as shown, follow the picture, take your time, there is enough space, you have a good solid shelf! All you need is some experience with a screwdriver, hammer and common sense. Don't think about the 30 minutes you have to install the shelf, I'm disabled and it took me about 50 minutes, my advice, just look at the instructions first and imagine each step, do it slowly and carefully, for a little use of nail thin pliers to hold it, watch your fingers! That's all!

At that price I should have known what I was getting. It does the work for what I needed it for, which is our homeschooling books. The nails holding the back are too small so I used our own larger ones. DO NOT put it on the carpet if you have children, otherwise it will tip over. I need a flat surface.
