The exhaust and emissions are hollow.

Not exactly what I expected. The valve is hollow. The part I got going was the PCV gasket. I just thought I would have done the valve at the same time. But nothing in the valve body

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Legacy model

This is a good PCV for 5

This is a good PCV for 5.3 liter GM engines that are having oil combustion problems and may help some of them. It's a fixed fitting and doesn't rattle like traditional spring and gasket PCV valves, so reviewers who said it was broken and should be returned didn't realize that this particular valve was just a fixed fitting size.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Blank

Fixed bore PCV on spares

Replaced it with an old ratchet type in my hot rod that I converted to EFI. The fixed orifice PCV offers a much more controlled vacuum compared to the flapper type. Easy update, I wish it came with a 90 degree boot but I removed the old plastic cover from my rattle and put it back on in seconds. (Just apply some heat from a heat gun or blow dryer)

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • No power

Works great with Saturn S series although not designed for it.

I've been using one in my 1994 Saturn SW2 since May 2015 and am very happy with this fixed bore PCV. I used it initially to reduce oil consumption a bit, but left it for a slight improvement in throttle response and a larger improvement in smooth idle. It also doesn't clog up with oil as quickly as the factory one.

Pros
  • Good
Cons
  • Nothing

a check ball guy. GM issued a service bulletin about some vehicles using too much oil and recommended replacing the PCV valve with this type. In my case it worked perfectly. I burned a lot of oil which caused it to flow through the ball valve and once I had it installed the difference in the amount of oil flowing through the valve was huge.

Pros
  • . Lots of positive vibes.
Cons
  • . There are disadvantages.
