Blue is not as reliable as green

Bought this blue (price) when my old green stopped working. This blue doesn't seem to be as accurate or reliable as green. Much more picky about button presses and locks. By looking at the file structure in blue I managed to get the old green one to work. If you launch them side by side, the green one is less likely to fall off or miss. Key response on green is better. I don't understand why there is a quality difference between the old green and the new blue. But there is also a clear…

An inexpensive way to monitor where you or others have been!

Like: No monthly fee. Easily retrieve data from the device (e.g. from a USB stick). Small size. Different modes. Dislikes: You must read the digital manual. Nobody needs paper. Some of the supplied software does not work properly. For the price and what it can do, you can't beat it. You can convert the .fit file to .gpx with the included software and then import it into Goggle Earth. You can immediately see the route recorded during the day. Battery life not checked yet.

Pros
  • Build quality
Cons
  • Nothing here

It's a decent product and unfortunately the only one that works.

What I needed was a GPS recorder which I carried with me to simply record the time and date when taking photos with the DSLR. It works great for that, later I upload the data to my laptop and compare it with the camera time on the photos. The ONLY issue (besides the pain of the 2 button interface) is the relatively limited memory for recording. This is only good for slightly longer days (depends partly on your settings). So I need a laptop to download data and be ready for the next day.

  • Good product for the price

Great GPS for sport

Bought a Canmore GP-102+ for windsurfing. This is a great and accurate little device. Windsurfing or swimming requires a waterproof bag as water resistance is limited. I often carry aLOXAC cases (high quality zippered cases) and a cheap iPhone strap or waterproof strap. The device definitely records Doppler velocities, although it does not record accuracy data. Benchmark testing by myself and many others has shown it to be just as accurate as the previous gold standard, the Locosys GT-31 (which

Good value for money. Seems solid.

Advantages: Small. Displays time and latitude/longitude. You can set up recording at 1 second intervals. Has a large recording capacity. At least 42,000 samples. (Maximum not tested.) Battery life is at least 14 hours while recording. (Maximum not tested.) Sufficient water resistance. (Haven't tested it again other than hiking in the fog.) It seems to have good GPS accuracy. (Haven't fully characterized it in cities and dense forests yet. But its (Kalman?) filter is better than the Surf3 GPS…

Pros
  • High test results for hold and durability
Cons
  • Price

It's cheap and not 100% reliable.

This thing offers some functionality along with endless frustration. I use it to jot down places and geotag my vacation photos. It usually lasts a full day of driving/hiking on a charge, but it's difficult to recharge. Once fully charged it will stop charging and start draining the battery so it may be incomplete at the start of the day and then shut off for the rest of the day. I've used it on a couple of vacations and it seems like after a trip I usually have a bunch of bad files - hopelessly

  • Everything is fine!
