perfect for shock absorbers, struts and suspension

Fits and works great, I recommend only original nuts. A washer/nut was included where a radius was not thought of after installation. replaced by the original and Radil disappeared. Also, the acorn nut that Volvo originally put on it is better as it prevents the nut from rusting on the bolt.

Good shock but you need a tool to install it.

My only criticism of this product is that it has to use this tool: Lisle 20400 Universal Shock Tool I spent 4 hours tightening the rotating double D hex with a vise. I ended up ripping off one of the tips pretty badly, but I was able to use the tool above and capture the stripped tip in less than 15 minutes. Do yourself a favor and buy a percussion instrument and a PB blaster.

To fit a 1998 Volvo S70 with new Meyle rear shock absorbers. Don't expect these shock absorbers to absorb every bump in the road. Are they significantly better than the 18 year old S70 OEM shocks? Yes. Without a doubt! The OEM shocks didn't even move anymore! For the price, these kicks can't be beat. If you want a smoother ride, buy Bilstein or Sachs. Update: I've had these dampers for about a year and 6000 miles and they're still good. When you don't need performance. These Gabriels are not…

I would not recommend this product.

Made in China Shock absorbers, brackets and fasteners. The hardware is marked metric class 8.8, but you wouldn't believe it. Large burrs remain on the threads of the bottom nut, and the deformed heads on two of the four mounting bolts look suspicious. Also, the nut that holds the upper shock shaft is improperly formed and will not hold the shock in place. Also cheap pads. I used original equipment to be on the safe side as Volvo equipment is top notch and even used but still way better than…

Price, Performance & Lifetime Guarantee

Gabriel G57040 ReadyMount Strut Assembly (Automotive) I purchased this rear shock along with the Gabriel front struts listed above. Simply pull back the side panel in the trunk without removing it to reveal the rear shock absorber. Do not remove the shock mount, but remove the large center nut on the shock using a closed-end wrench and a vise or a small open-end wrench to prevent the shock shaft from rotating when the nut is removed. I was able to remove the screw under the car without lifting…

Satisfied and happy

My husband was able to fit them on all 4 wheels on my 1998 Volvo S70 T in about 3 hours with no problems (I also made matching rear shock absorbers). The $350 installation fee at the local shop has been avoided as no special tools are required to install these racks. Verified Volvo spec branded suspension products on specialist websites we have here in the North West. I just didn't want to go down the double price route to have the cash and prestige Volvo spec for this car, this daily driver…
