Type of review

For example, my application requires a physical needle, not digital numbers. A counter placed between the contacts of an antique semi-automatic morse key that produces continuous "dots" when the lever is held down (the metronome-like vibration actually closes the contacts once with each stroke of the lever). The meter serves as a "delay meter" similar to those used in mechanical "points" in car engines of its day, allowing you to determine exactly what percentage of each oscillation the…

Okay but area settings are wrong

Everything is fine. But for some reason it has a range setting of 250 for the upper limit of the ACV and DCV switch settings. It should be labeled 300 and not 250. Even the manual I downloaded online says 300 instead of 250. And other manufacturers show pictures of the same GMT-312 with max voltage settings of 300 instead of 250. And even the scale doesn't. I don't have anything with a maximum deviation of 250. But the scale has a maximum deviation of 300. And when I measure the output voltage…

Perfect for me on Testers

The last time my multitester died, about 20 years ago, I bought a digital model. Hey I love high tech for many products but in this case I missed the old reliable analogue output. Maybe not as accurate as digital, but accurate enough for my needs. and simply more stable reading. (One of the downsides of my digital multitester was that the numbers fluctuated due to the second - unnecessary detail). Other big pluses of this model: It uses a single AA battery rather than the more expensive 9V…

Large economical multimeter "SMALL "

For the price, I should give this multimeter five stars. It reminds me of a simple Archer mini multimeter kit I put together decades ago. I still have this little meter but it's old and well used so I needed an inexpensive replacement. My main need was a small handheld multimeter for testing error-prone interconnect cables. And I have to check 110 volt outlets to find power when I work in the field. I didn't need anything fancy and I wanted something very small and this counter does the trick…

  • There are other interesting options.
