Works well if you have a little patience!

It doesn't have the suction, protection or adhesion I should rate. It slides over one of the vents, then turn a knob (like an old radio volume knob) to tighten the end of the clip over the vents. If you always drive the same car, that's it. It also doesn't fall out of the side mount every time you hit a bump. If you want to remove it from this car to hide the GPS, I keep a clip in the vent and remove it at the swivel ball. I drive different cars all day and change cars often. I usually use this

  • This is great

  • Some bugs

The seller is fine. The product sucks.

Although designed by Garmin, the clips break easily as they have no metal coating and are made entirely of synthetic rubber. But this seller was fine. Garmin bugs me. The price is too high, but again, that's not the seller's fault. I strongly suspect this is because we carefully track all patents on this product and therefore have almost complete control over the aftermarket for this GPS mount. Non-OEM mounts are simply not designed or manufactured to mount heavy or large GPS devices. So I knew

Big disappointment - GPS, finder and accessories

This was a gift for my elderly friend who installed his Garmin GPS instead of keeping it next to the shifter. It has trouble reaching final when mounted on a windshield. So this one was perfect as it was easy to reach when mounted on the air vent. In less than a month it just broke. It never mixed up with the good one that was once mounted on the air vent, but it just fell off on its own while driving. This is a big disappointment for the following reasons: 1. It was a gift.2. It meant serving…

Good but built with one defect

These last about 2 years. It has a built in defect that causes it to break. The top has a small rubber foot at the back to prevent it from sliding forward. The leg is not very deep and lacks a hook to secure it. The impact of your car causes such a load that the top of the foot buckles and cracks. Then it jumps up or breaks off; the holder loses his back support and everything falls down. If so, you should get a new one. Before that happens, it's a good holder. It has a small wheel to tighten…

Poor quality - 2nd review 13-May-20

2nd review - After some thought I contacted Garmin using the information in their product manual. After explaining the situation to the support team, he asked me to send him a copy of my invoice and he will replace both fasteners free of charge. This was taken care of and within 10 days I received two boxed retail mounts. Great customer service but the mounts appear to be the same as the previous ones. I hope Garmin improved the quality. Stay with us. 1st review - I have had three of these…

Upgrade to GPS Overview, Finder and Accessories

Difficult to use in a 2013 Chevy Equinox due to less dashboard space than other cars. Also, it can only be used on the passenger side air duct as all other air ducts are vertical and this unit is designed for mounting in one direction only. I've used it to test its ability to handle normal road bumps/bumps and it's holding up really well - it's never dropped or wobbled. As said, as long as you have a sat nav, this device is very durable for a Garmin mount. Otherwise there is no installation…
