A vintage, tried and tested Garmin GPS is just what you need. Stay away from the new ones if you can, as many features and functions have been removed from the new ones, like the 40 and 50 series. I don't know about others, but this unit is solid, reliable, and geocaching suitable.

I bought this model because my husband already had one and it was very easy to use. I really don't like the suction cup mount so I bought one of these that looks like a beanbag and sits on the dash. You can see the map very well because of its size. I also like Garmin's reputation. It had good online reviews and you can buy lifetime map updates which my husband found very helpful in his job as a travel salesman.

It is easy to use, the display is a good size and easy to understand. It would be nice if it were easier to select alternate routes from the map view rather than having to go back to 'setup' which isn't easy while driving so you'll definitely need a co-pilot. Nor was it very successful to choose the most obvious path. All in all I figured it out and it really is the best if you drive a lot.
