Short parts. for car electronics accessories

Ordered on Saturday morning, received the package on Monday afternoon! I received the plastic threaded part I need along with the zip ties, but the magnet has shorted out.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Some errors

Servicing Old Equipment

Garmin now makes speed and cadence sensors that attach to the crank and hub. I converted one of my bikes to them and am in the process of installing it on my wife's mtn. Bicycle. These parts make this transplant possible and will give my wife new information for her travels and keep this device from the trash can.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Garmin-tastic for cars and automotive electronics

Nothing to say. This is the quality you love and have come to expect from Garmin. (Though there's nothing notable here that ANY brand could screw up.) I don't doubt the quality; Parts do exactly what they are supposed to. However. they are a bit expensive. You literally get a magnet, a piece of plastic (like a needle clip) and some zip ties. For me, that takes away from how much I "love" this product.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Legacy

$10 for a dime piece of plastic.

If you have a Garmin Edge system where the plastic holding the magnet is broken. You have little choice. Garmin has you know what. They pay $10 for a lousy piece of plastic that costs them about 10 cents to make and they add some ties like it makes you feel better. It's bad enough that I had to pay $700 for a GPS that shouldn't cost more than $200, but it is now. Come on!

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Slightly Crumpled

Very easy to lose again

I've already lost several cadence sensors due to bad Garmin design. However, there is relief. The sensor is nothing more than a strong magnet surrounded by a plastic shell. Instead of spending another ten bucks, this time I took a rare earth magnet and just attached it to the pedal shaft (which is made of steel) and lined it up with the main reader. Voila, it worked just as well as a Garmin sensor! If I lose it again, I'll just put another magnet in for pennies. I hope this saves someone $10.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Boring packaging

Works as intended but expensive for what you get

I lost the part that attaches to my grip but the part that attaches to my spokes stays. I searched a bit on the internet and found several people who suggested using a small strong magnet attached to the crank or pedal. I decided I would just go the easy way and bought this kit. Of course, it's just a strong magnet with a plastic sleeve that you zip up next to the pedal. If I lose that magnet, I'll probably buy a pack of 40 rare earth disc magnets for $10 and have a lifetime supply.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Expensive

Garmin speed and cadence sensor

The product is excellent! The problem is that I did not receive all my parts. I ordered two of these to replace a lost cadence magnet and have a backup in case I lose another one from one of my bikes. One was full. The other was missing the cadence magnet attached to the left crank and the speed sensor magnet attached to the spokes. It's amazing how these things still get into the packaging because they put them in a little plastic bag that was just rolled up with a piece of tape to keep it…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • There are nuances
