Good quality hose - radiator

Good quality hose. The problem I had in my v6 Dakota Sport 02 was that the hose on the radiator side was 4 inches shorter. Also, it was 1.5 inches shorter on the water outlet side (but long enough to get on it long enough). Revain says it's a direct landing, but it requires a little off-the-beaten-path ingenuity. That means a steel pipe to fit inside the hose to use as a coupler and a 5 inch piece of old hose. Works great now!

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Long delivery time

2002 Dodge Dakota 5.9L Upper Radiator Hose

Like: Revain's price is almost half of what the local auto zone wanted. Dislikes: Had to use the old metal wire insert from the old hose as the new one didn't come with the kit. The plastic center point with the heatsink cap and attachment point looks pretty odd. Misaligned to be exactly the same as the old one. You'll have to cut off a lot of excess tubing to make it fit. Be prepared. Nowhere in the description does it say there is a new case. There is one in all the photos but I wasn't sure I

The hose is a little longer than the factory, had to be replaced.

The hose is slightly longer than the original one I replaced, had to cut less than 1/2 inch to fit easily, only gripe is that it doesn't fit in the mount of my 01 Durango which I have 2 zips used for saving, I don't create anything special either. The only advice I can give to anyone who has had this replaced due to car overheating or just a hose rupture while driving is to have at least 2 gallons of coolant and do a 3 car fill cycle (warm up/cool down - refuel). . After replacing mine I…

Must be bought from Mopar

Three things prevent it from getting more stars. one is long This must be the exact length provided by the OEM. You should create a separate one for V6. Second, the barb that attaches it to the factory bracket just below the filler neck is square. OEM is tapered. I had to cut it off and use zip ties. They don't last long in the heat. Third, the OEM had a spring to prevent the hose from kinking and/or collapsing. There was no spring in this replacement. I had to remove it from the OEM and put it

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • High price

Installed correctly, something like

Installed on a 2001 Dodge Dakota 3.9L V6. I didn't have to trim the length. As mentioned by others, the square knob designed to mount to the motor mount does NOT fit the round hole on the metal motor mount. The geometry of the hose assembly was slightly twisted axially from where it would fit into the capped tee, so the fit from the engine to the radiator was not ideal. The hose wanted to get away from the engine mount. So I didn't bother attaching the hose to the bracket - I let it float above

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Same hose sold at local auto parts store

Same hose sold at local auto parts store. With the same label and the same fit. I had to replace my 3 year old hose because the plastic housing that houses the radiator cap broke for the second time. The last hose I bought was from Goodyear and broke after 3 years. The factory hose lasted 7 years. I like the Gates hose more than the Goodyear because it has rubberized plastic where the hose connects to the cap body and feels more flexible. The Goodyear hose has clamps and the plastic body breaks

The cover is wrong and the spring doesn't fit without bending

For Dodge Dakota 3.9L 2001 As mentioned in another review, the AC lines are a bit tight at the top where they enter the engine block . Ut comes with a 20lb cap. Be sure to check your hat. I have a 16 lb cap and it still had the Chrysler symbol on it. So be sure to put on the right hat and, in an emergency, throw the "new” Junker hat or in the glove compartment. Incidentally, the lettering on the new cap is barely legible. The hose I replaced was GoodYear. You can buy GoodYear for about $5 more.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • There are minuses
