good stuff best in belts, hoses and pulleys

Gates makes good stuff, fitted my Lexus with no problems. I have been using Gates parts on various vehicles for many years and have never had a problem. This untied my squeaky belt

  • Great for me

Perfect fit for 2002 Jeep GC LTD 4.0L

I love Gates hoses and belts. I suppose Dayco is good too, but I've never had a problem with Gates. Never buy a belt at a discount to save a few bucks; All cheap things wear out much sooner.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Some small things

Too short, too stiff

I couldn't install this on my 2000 Tundra, it was maybe 1 inch shorter. I've been trying for over 2 hours but to no avail. The existing 80,000 mile belt looked fine so I reinstalled it, 15 minutes. Needless to say I do not recommend this belt.

Pros
  • handy
Cons
  • so far so good

A few months on my truck and still nice and quiet.

So far, so good. Has been running for months now and no sound. Worth the extra money for a quality belt. I was going to wait a few months before writing this review because the last brand I bought had already failed by then. I will update if anything changes.

Pros
  • Easy-to-read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

Doesn't fit right. 2004 4runner 4.7L V8

Belt holds up great. There is nothing wrong with the way the belt was made. Upset by the fact that Revain says it will fit my '04 4runner SR5 4.7L V8. It fits and works technically. But it fits loosely and slips off all the time when I wear it. I added a picture to show that the auto tensioner pointer was to the right of the three lines. This falls under the "Replace Belt" category. Found and replaced with Bando 6PK2235 and the auto-tensioner arrow between the extreme left and middle lines…

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Something different

GATES. EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW.

Gates belts and hoses have been in use for over thirty years. Every used car I buy gets all new belts and hoses within 60 days of ownership, and in 45 years of driving the only time I've ever been stuck or broken was in my new cars, never in my used car New. reliable thing. I had an issue with a 96ft Grand Am SE and needed to install one of these. This was due to debris on the road while driving and the only thing available was a different brand. I can honestly say it made three times as much…

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

DOES NOT fit 2001 Tundra 4.7LA/C

This belt will not fit 2001 Tundra 4.7L engine. I used to change serpentine belts on my truck so I have some experience installing them. After playing around with it for about 15 minutes, I finally came to the conclusion that this belt is too short. According to Revane, the belt should fit my truck, but it really didn't. The part number sold to me is 6PK2243. The correct part number is 6PK2300, which is approximately 2.24 inches longer. Luckily I was able to run to PEP Boys, choose the right…

Installation instructions

Despite the seller's misleading name, this is a genuine Gates belt of excellent quality. Note that the new Gates belt is about 1/4" shorter. Old belts stretch! Because of this, it's easier to reinstall an old belt than to install a new one. The Gates belt is good. Maybe yours Mechanic!. That means its installation requires the perfect tool and technique. When you first try to install a new belt, you won't be able to find it on all the pulleys. You'll get misplaced, it will slip, access is…
