I needed an antenna that could be completely hidden. What's the point of mounting the TV correctly on the wall if the antenna is visible? This antenna has an amplifier that requires cable routing and cannot be powered directly from the USB port. This is the first blow. Punch two: The amp is pretty big. I have this exact antenna on my main TV (Sony Bravia) and it works very well. So I bought another one to use with the smaller TV (Magnavox) in the next room. It doesn't work that well on this TV, but I'm still happy with it. I think the quality of the TV and tuner will affect how well the antenna works as well as the location. This antenna replaces the one I had which was attached to the window with a noticeable wire between it and this particular TV. I had problems with images freezing and falling out completely. Especially with a local station. Not only does this new antenna work great, it looks good too. It sits right under the TV, hiding cables and the like. After several days of surfing, the station didn't experience a single freeze or frame drop, which used to be the worst. I am impressed.
