I sent this toaster back. After opening the toaster and turning it on, trying to toast a piece of bread left both sides down. Bought another brand.

When I was looking for a new toaster that would go with my hodgepodge of other small appliances and still work well, I found the Geek Chef and he does exactly what I was hoping for - he fits and works like a dream! Good choice!

This toaster is the worst! Don't waste money. I had one come in and the left side didn't go down so the toast couldn't be toasted so I had to return it and get another. I should have taken that as a sign because since I've been using this thing it doesn't toast to 1, 2, 3 or 4. It does some of the work on 5 and the bagel button doesn't work at all! My bagel still feels bland and just reheated it, it didn't toast at all. It doesn't toast your bread, it just warms it up more than anything else…

After trying various poorly insulated toasters I finally found this one from Geek Chef. The outer shell is enough to keep the heat out. It looks very modern and stylish. The controls are conveniently located and easy to understand. As other reviewers say, even at the highest setting, the dim setting still doesn't produce dark toast.
