Not even close to reality

The thing is terrible. If I hit three times, I get three different notes. I used this to mark holes for drilling small loops. 1 out of 8 holes was properly aligned. The rest didn't even come close. Why do something like this and not exactly that? This is a money scam.

Proven: Punches

I collect guitars as a hobby and getting the bridge straight is very important. I focused on Telecaster style bridges and used this tool to successfully mark the holes required for the bridge. A light tap with an 8 ounce hammer will do the trick. I also use it to mark the holes for the lead socket cover. Good tool at a very good price.

  • Stylish and modern design

Much better than the eye center.

I have Vix type bits but they get stuck so easily I rarely use them. This simple tool makes a clean line down the center of the hole so my drill bit or screw starts and ends perfectly. Non-mortice hinges remain perfectly aligned when the screws are tightened and their heads are square and flat with the hinge. Doesn't take up space in my tool box.

  • Ideal for outdoor activities

  • Protection

Not suitable for front door hinges.

I am replacing a hollow interior door, I was hoping this would help when replacing the hinges with the new door as there is very little chance of misalignment. Unfortunately, the diameter of this stamp is too small for the screw holes of conventional door hinges; it didn't center because the hinge hole was significantly larger. Attempting to locate the location by eye resulted in off-center holes. It might be a little better than nothing, but not by much. I assume this works well enough for…

not a precise tool, not even close

The point of this thing is to mark the center of a hole (e.g. a hole in a door/cabinet hinge) more accurately than the eye can do. At this he fails miserably. It works - you hit the back of the pen, a sharp "awl" pops out leaving a mark/small hole. BUT, it's a little bit different every time. I wanted to say it doesn't get much better than looking at it. But this is wrong. It's NOT better than looking at it. I think if you're willing to shell out $5-10 to throw away your tool box, this bill is…

Great price but you have to invest in auto punch

Center punch doesn't seem to hit the center. It has a little play so it can be off center at times. But close enough for rock and roll! Otherwise I wasn't expecting ultra high precision from a cheap tool, so for the price it works well. However, I will invest in an "Auto Punch" that you don't have to hit with a hammer. Trying to hold the loop and that punch and then hitting it with a hammer is a little tricky, and if you're in an awkward position things can easily move. A punching machine would
