I wouldn't waste time.

I was disappointed. For the past month we have had a slow gas leak inside and outside of our home. Since we had to rent a hotel room for a week, gas companies and plumbers have been in our house more times than we have. I bought it hoping I could find the leak myself as I spend most of my time at home. nope Even if you put it next to my stove and light the igniter, this unit still won't pick up any gas! Do not worry.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Bad instructions

Works great with gas detectors and alarms

Works like a charm. The plumber who installed my hot water tank came to my home four times and couldn't find an obvious gas leak. Of course, their technology was soap and water, and they failed miserably. The gas company came out and confirmed my concerns. I ordered this unit and called the plumber for the fifth time. I put this little device in the general area of the leak and "presto", the leak is found and fixed. Needless to say, the plumbers were embarrassed that they couldn't find and fixโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

I sleep better knowing my gas readings won't leak

Easy to use: Insert the 2 included AA batteries into the compartment as shown in the picture, go to fresh air, e.g. B. Outdoors, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds, release the power button and allow the sensor to warm up for about 30 seconds. The green light will flash every 7 seconds, letting the person know the device is ready. I tested it with a propane lighter and the unit beeps amber for low concentration gases or amber and red for high concentration gases. A piece of the cakeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Not very sensitive - household sensors and alarms

This rating applies to both the General Tools and Instruments PNG1 and the Mastech MS6310. I was looking for a detector to find a leak in my RV's propane system. Verdict: In my testing, Mastech was easier to use, more responsive, and much more responsive. The Mastech MS6310 is worth the extra $13 in my opinion when it comes to safety issues and costs associated with gas leaks. Read on for more details. GT&I PNG1: This device came in a nice blister pack with 2 AA batteries and legibleโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to use
