Easy setup once you conquer the assembly

The hardware install was fairly straightforward but it was a bit of a trick keeping the chain untangled and starting at the right end of it. My old opener didn't have the optical sensors so they were extra work. I am a little concerned that they are vulnerable to being kicked or knocked by the snowblower, etc.I was really pleased with the easy way you set the open and close adjustments (no knobs to twist like on my old Stanley) and the reversing force was automatically set too. The wifi setup…

Pros
  • Setting up with Alexa was easy.
Cons
  • The additional features can be gimmicky and unnecessary

No on Alexa Routines

Does not work with Alexa routines. Wish I did not have to use a passcode to open with Alexa . you cannot over ride this. Make me sign a waiver and give me an option on open command without verbal passcode. At least make the close command work in a routine, my Schlage lock at least does that. "Pre programmed” key fobs did not work. so far can’t figure them out. Wireless keypad on outside of door allows up to 3 static passcodes so I cannot assign schedules and times remotely. Quiet door, no good…

Pros
  • Setting up with Alexa was easy.
Cons
  • May malfunction and open the garage door without any input

Easy, quiet, smart for my opinion

Very easy to install. Clear directions. Much quieter than anticipated. WiFi and smartphone integration is great. Very pleased.

Pros
  • I dont know abt the motion detection. But it works great.
Cons
  • The unit may not be durable enough, with the possibility of short lifespan periods

Alexa function is a total lie. False advertising.

1 problem - the Alexa functionality does not work. Everything else works as advertised.I bought this opener BECAUSE of the advertised Alexa function. That seems false and misleading to me after attempting to solve the problem with Alexa support and Aladdin Connect support. Both companies pointed fingers at the other companies app or wouldn’t take ownership.Disappointed!

Pros
  • It is really quiet. No battery backup. No motion for the lites
Cons
  • Loud operation compared with other garage door openers

Dependable and quiet. Awesome bang for the buck.

Very easy to install, very quiet. I'm utilizing the wifi and app on my phone, I get notified on open and close, and can open and close with app. Very nice for the money.

Pros
  • ‎Lifts 7 foot high sectional garage doors (8 foot with extension kit sold separately)
Cons
  • May require regular software updates, which are required for the smooth functioning of the product

Open the pod bay door!

Integrates with Alexa very easily. I have an Echo Auto and first time visitors get a kick out of it when I tell it to "open the pod bay door” about a block away and it’s opening as we roll up.The app also sends a notification to the phone app when the door opens or closes and there’s a vocal confirmation on whichever echo you used. There’s also all the traditional controls… but they’re not as fun, of course.Installation was a breeze. First time installing one and it only took about 4 or 5 hours.

Pros
  • Building Materials
Cons
  • Lack of manual hand crank may pose a problem during power outages

HORRIBLE! on my review.

Product did not work. It did not pull the garage door up. Our door is smaller and lighter than the product description claims the door is able to handle. After talking to the genie customer service the service representative asked a few questions and came to the conclusion that the spring from the door must be broken. She told me to contact a professional to get that fixed and was done helping me. Well turns out she was wrong. The spring is just fine! I went and bought a different garage door…

Pros
  • VERY QUIET EASY TO INSTALL
Cons
  • Third-party apps may not work properly with the opener

Quiet, Fast, Add on capable

I replaced my old Genie shaft drive with this. I think I prefer the chain, even though its slower its a helluv a lot quieter.Bonus wifi app that you can control with your phone. An auto shut time that closes the door if you forget. I have mine to auto close at 11pm and never worry about it if its open.It links to Alexa, BEST ADD ON EVER, I can check on the door, open, close it anywhere In the house

Pros
  • It’s so quiet
Cons
  • Mobile app is not intuitive and can be difficult to navigate

Good value in my review

Instructions/diagrams could have been better. Wasn't overly difficult to install, just time consuming. Wife wants one on her side of garage now.

Pros
  • Building Supplies
Cons
  • May lack compatibility with certain home automation systems

Works as it shoukd but quality is poor.

Installation took about 8 hours. Most definitely a 2 person job. Instructions were clear and thorough. The garage opener works well and the remote works from down our LONG driveway. My biggest complaint is the quality. The track is terribly flimsy and cheap feeling. The wire to.connect is thin gauge. For as much as I.paid for a better opener I feel it is a rip off.

Pros
  • Went through the instructions manual and was easy to install. Great experience! Thank you Genie
Cons
  • Installation can be complicated and may require professional assistance

Very quiet for a chain drive! No fee for networking!

I was concerned initially about this chain drive being noisy, but it is extremely quiet. The app works well to control it without having to pay a monthly fee like others. It also works well with Alexa, though needed some fiddling to get it to work right. Pairing with HomeConnect car remotes was not so fun or easy, but I think that's more of a HomeConnect issue, as my neighbor has same issue with a different brand.I think it will last a while, though only concerns are one sprocket end…

Pros
  • Doors
Cons
  • Expensive compared with other traditional garage door openers

Warning. Not worth your money

After about 5 months of use it can no longer lift my garage door. If I help lift the garage door it will open but that’s not very convenient. And they will not replace under warranty.

Pros
  • I like the online feature , if I forget to close the door, I can close it from my phone
Cons
  • The "smart" connectivity may be less useful than anticipated, especially for those who only use their garage infrequently

Very easy to install, very quiet. I'm utilizing the wifi and app on my phone, I get notified on open and close, and can open and close with app. Very nice for the money.

Pros

Cons

Easy, quiet, smart: my feedback

Very easy to install. Clear directions. Much quieter than anticipated. WiFi and smartphone integration is great. Very pleased.

Pros
  • The product is wonderful but I counted on the smart technology and it rarely stays connected.
Cons
  • Requires consistent Wi-Fi connectivity, which may not always be reliable
