The key is also prone to breaking off, leaving you stranded with a tire that you can't remove. The only benefit is that it does provide some level of theft protection. The key that came with it did NOT fit the security tabs that came with my 2006 Acura TL. So if you buy them because you broke your original key, you can check if they fit.
