I bought this part to replace the original part; I contacted my local dealer - think they can reprogram this new key fob for my car - they wanted $100 for a 'try' to do this service - whether they were successful or not - I don't think so! Check Contact your local locksmith - they do, and at the best price and in less time - part fully machined - very satisfied!

Original key ring for 08 Santa Fe was dying. The buttons are worn out. Bought this one for $26. I took it to the dealer for activation - $67. So only $93 for a new working keychain. Not bad in my opinion considering Auto Zone sells one on their website for $130 and you still have to pay to activate it. Activated today, I've only been using it for a few hours, but so far so good.

I was obviously worried it wouldn't work but even that was a possibility worth exploring beforehand you spend a chunk of money dealers. It works like magic! It was programmed free of charge at a local dealer. Had to call two to find it though. The first one wanted to charge me $100 for programming even if it didn't work! Thanks for nothing guys. The second dealer was happy to do it and it took 10 minutes max.
