🎮 Genuine Nintendo OEM Wii DVD Drive Disc Replacement Part for Effective Repair Review

The drive arrived today and took about half an hour to install (thanks YouTube). The delivery was very quick. The drive works well but is very noisy. Just a faint hum, but very noticeable. This is the reason for the 3 star rating. It's loud enough that everyone in the room can hear it all the time. If it was quiet I would definitely rate it 5 stars.

Friends Wii console no longer recognizes DVDs. Tried blowing air out of DVD drive to remove dust, didn't help. I ordered this disc as a replacement. I put the chances of it working at 50/50 - the problem could be with the Wii itself, right? Well it worked like a charm. A fully functional Wii costs $20 again. Hooray. Tip: Don't forget to press the eject button to remove the drive from the old drive before disassembling it.

Initially I was trying to replace my old Wii drive spindle (original model that plays GameCube games) as it would not spin the discs. However, the unit showed the same problem with the new motor, so I broke down and bought this 4WD. My daughter has been testing it for about 15 minutes now and it seems to be working great! Tests show that it is still possible to play Wii and Gamecube games as expected as described.

Easy install (if you have worked with electronics before) and fixed all the problems we had with our Wii - not reading discs, freezing , random error. Find an online video and watch it multiple times. There are MANY screws to remove (and replace), some of which are hidden under the rubber feet and plastic tabs. You will need a 3-blade screwdriver and a VERY SMALL Phillips screwdriver.

The drive came with a triangular screwdriver needed to disassemble the Wii and I already had the precision screwdrivers needed for the rest of the disassembly. The floppy didn't come with instructions, which would have been nice, but I was able to remove the old floppy and install the new one. There are a few bottlenecks and tiny screws, but I managed to install, assemble and test the unit.
