13357 Geosciences Industries Intro Collection Review

This product claimed to be an introduction to specimens in science education, but I found it to be a complete waste of money. Through trial and error, I found that most of the specimens were cheap and low-quality, with very little educational value. The industrial and scientific appeal of the description was misleading as well. The only pro was that the packaging was nice. The cons heavily outweigh any positives. Save your money and look for a better introductory collection.

I find this collection of stones to be excellent value for money. Stone and mineral sets of this size and quality tend to be significantly more expensive. A few rocks visited their neighbors and one lost its tag en route to my house, but that was an easy fix. None of the stones are broken and they all look like good quality and decent sized specimens. For the price I think the kit works well. The kit includes a magnet, a magnifying glass, a streak plate and several information sheets. I have read some of the previous reviews and yes the loupe is small and the box is quite flimsy but this is an introductory course and it is the same loupe, magnet and strip plate that I bought at my university when I was studying geology .
