Works great but broke for some reason

First of all I have to say these chains work great. I live in Alaska and these things make it easy for me to get around in the snow in my 2WD GMC Canyon. In fact, I was able to pass places where I slipped less than others with 4WD and no chains. Runs fairly quietly once you're over 20mph, all you hear is a dull hum when on a dry road. At the same time, one of the wires got twisted after about 2 weeks of use. I'm still waiting to hear from the company if this is a normal problem or not. I would…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Crumpled

Good thing it's not on the pass

I give 1 star for these chains - one chain broke in the snow on the 3rd day of operation. I bought them last year but only used them recently, in the winter of 2015-16 we had a lot of snow in the Tahoe area of California. We were on Christmas vacation, got caught in a heavy snow storm and chain steering was installed on the passes. I put them on and rode normally for two days. Never more than 25 mph. On the 3rd day, as we were leaving the entrance of our home, one of the chains broke. It's good

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Not fashionable
