These are great for Arduino or RasPie, but they are NOT JST connectors: they DO NOT snap into place. DO NOT use on moving objects such as fans, robots or RC connectors. It is not clear in the attachment, description or pictures.

It's nice to be able to crimp a few terminals on a wire. I got tired of cutting and soldering the fan every time it failed. With this set I now have plenty of spare standby fans that only take a few seconds to swap out the clips ready to use.

These are great low current connectors. I've used a few of these but will be using more in the near future for another project I've just started. The 3 pin connectors are great for connecting DS18B20 temperature sensors to the board and the 4 pin connector is great for connecting the I2C display converters I have already purchased.

They do not respond well to traditional "d" shaped crimping tools. I was able to make multiple crimps using multiple "Hex" dies designed for use with a variety of coax shields and center pins. I have an IWISS SN-025 crimping tool so I can get it right. You should also look for the right tool so you don't mess up the contacts, break the wires and get frustrated.

Pay attention to some of the reviews! As the description says: widely used for speakers, monitors, home appliances, LED lighting, copiers, fax machines, medical equipment, computers, electronic toys, batteries, circuit boards. d is needed for all these things in this connector. Microcontroller applications yes, maybe 24g cable or less, but nothing to use in an automotive environment. Tried - doesn't fit.

The metal of the terminals is so thin and weak that they just don't "stick" into the connector body. MALE pins are the absolute WORST and there is no way to tell which pin will fail, but you can be assured that at least one pin will fail in each connector. It's a good thing they have so many in the kit because after trying 8 or 9 I finally got one to work. At least I got some satisfaction by throwing the whole suitcase in the trash. Good get rid of bad garbage.

I'm using these to connect the microcontroller to a Digiten G1 water sensor that comes with a 3-pin JST-SM connector. I used an appropriate crimping tool and crimped a few pins onto a wire, but when trying to fit them into the JST package, the pins are very "problematic" to get them all the way in. I carefully adjusted them with pliers to make sure they weren't wrinkled or anything. Apparently the angle of the small metal box that fits in the JST case is very important.
