Excellent performance. for my limited space

instructions could be a bit better. I used it best on 20 and 40 meters, some not so well on 30.80. Perfomance. I attached it to a tripod/12ft pole and 18ft coax cable and ground radial. With 20 watts against South Africa. seen in New Zealand and Antarctica

Pros
  • stable construction
Cons
  • cable is shorter than other picks

DOA (Out of Service on Arrival)

I wanted to use this antenna but found that it could not be tuned to any frequency other than 158MHz. The telescopic part had absolutely no effect on the voice frequency. Upon further investigation, I found that the resistance between connector #6 and the threads of the telescope connector at the top of the lower section is infinite. I removed the shrink tubing and found that the top coil wire made no contact with the rivet attached to the telescope. This antenna was obviously not tested before

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Socket required

Very good compromise antenna for quick use

This is a good compromise antenna for quick or mobile use. To avoid disappointment, use a simple antenna tuner rather than messing around with a counterpoise and long mast for narrow bandwidth. In all cases you will need an SWR meter or readings. The inductors use a 3/8 x 24 thread for the pin, so I sometimes use a longer thread for efficiency, for fear of the extra weight. I also use a large tabletop tripod with an aluminum plate and chassis-mounted BNC-to-BNC connector. I wish the inductors…

Pros
  • Accessories and consumables
Cons
  • Expensive

It works and I can live in my apartment with limited space.

Working. I installed the antenna on a car magnetic mount for BNC connectors. He's firmly on the ground. BNC magnetic cable for Xiegue G90 adapted with BNC adapter to PL259. I used two antenna SWR analyzers and a permanent marker to note the different antenna heights to set up the range for a quick reference. I need some different colored markers so I can mark the height with one color for quicker orientation. I'm thinking of taking a thin piece of thread and tying knots on it to mark each…

Pros
  • Fine adjustment with 10-part telescopic pin.
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

I bought this antenna for an upcoming event and unfortunately found during the event that it has extremely high SWR on all bands no matter what you did with it (first time use). I tried to get a replacement and ended up having to work with Revain to get a replacement because the seller wanted me to buy another one and lost money while returning it after sending it back damaged! I have absolutely no problem returning a bad antenna, but I do have a problem buying an antenna again when the first…

Pros
  • The range is switched by connecting a "wandering conductor" to the corresponding connection on the base coil.
Cons
  • So far so good

Useless without SWR meter but no tuner required

Conclusion: It works. Line above: What a headache. It looks like it, but it's not an MFJ 1899T antenna (and that might be fine). I tested it at 80 and 40 meters. I used the formula from the mfj 1899t documentation for the length of the counterweights (180/frequency) and it worked. However, antenna length was an inch shorter than documentation for both the mfj and packed sheet (at 80 m and 40 m). Something different. Therefore, you CANNOT use this antenna without being able to adjust it. My…

Pros
  • Covers all HF bands including WARC bands from 80 to 6 meters.
Cons
  • Only available in white
