This is a solid brick made from good hay

I was sorting hay like crazy for my rabbits and wanted to try this. But I didn't read very well because I was surprised when it came in the form of a dense haystack! (My own failure, it is clear that it was). I use meat claws to grind it for rabbits but the hay is great quality and not dried out like the others.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Clarity

DO NOT BUY! in groceries

I bought this hay without looking at the reviews because it was cheap. When it arrived it was in a smaller box than I expected. I opened the package and there was a small, compact bale. Due to the compression of this hay, it was extremely difficult to break it. Not to mention the hay is very brown and the pieces you get are very short. My rabbit won't eat it and it's another week before the new hay I bought arrives. The price really reflects the quality of this hay. You get what you pay for.

Great except for the plastic parts inside

I would have given this compressed bale 5 stars if it wasn't for the plastic we found halfway inside the bale. I'm glad we noticed before we fed it to our rabbits. This product is quite dusty, so I would recommend taking it apart from the outside. The rabbits seem to like it. We will carefully check every handful we take when feeding them to rabbits to make sure there is no plastic left in them. The compressed bundle filled the 18-gallon storage bin 3/4 full, so that's pretty good considering…

Watch a short video! Very helpful.

I bought a very compressed 10 lb bale and couldn't get it out. It's very tightly packed! I watched a short video and understood. The video helped me a lot. This is my first foray into small animals and hay. I just threw the block in the cage and hoped for the best. Hahahaha. I have to dig it up now to loosen it up. I also contacted the company about allergies. My son is allergic to peanuts and I was concerned about cross contamination. I received an email response very quickly which allayed my…

Very fresh but crumbled

I bought a 10lb bale of alfalfa. The hay was very fresh and my rabbit ate it enthusiastically. He smells AMAZING and he loves the taste. But it crumbled a lot, perhaps due to compression. The leaves are completely shed. As a result, most of them fall into the shell and die. With pressed alfalfa it might be inevitable, I don't know. Unless your pet is a rabbit, this probably won't be a problem; Rabbits are a special case because they eat through the tray. This was my rabbit's only food for…

Dusty and awful, my bun won't eat

customers beware!: This really is the worst hay I've ever bought. Yes I knew it was tight but I didn't think it would tear my hands trying to separate it. It's so dusty here that I have to wear a mask (I think a good thing about Covid is I have a lot of masks). It's like it's SERIOUSLY so dusty I can't even explain it. My picture I've added is of alfalfa I bought from this seller and on the right is hay I bought which didn't impress me too much so I put the "best" this grandfather tried. My…
