Efficient Punch Tool for Industrial and Scientific Use

This punch tool is an excellent addition to my industrial and scientific repertoire. Through trial and error, I found that the Greenlee Slug Buster Centering worked faster and more accurately than any other punch tool on the market. Its compact size is also a plus for me. However, the price point may deter some buyers from purchasing this tool. Overall, highly recommended for those in the cutting tools industry.

Pros
  • Efficiently centers holes for precision drilling
Cons
  • Requires a center punch for initial marking, which adds an extra step to the process

Replaced the ones I had. Original

I learned the hard way how to lubricate the threads before you start punching. I know, stupid move. I had to replace a broken screw.

Pros
  • Tools & Housewares
Cons
  • Newer model could have been chosen

The thrust bearing is new made in China and feels rough. I ended up removing the thrust bearing from my old broken one and putting it on the new one as it is significantly smoother. I doubt the validity of the "Made in USA" label if either of the two parts that make up the instrument are made in China. I would recommend something else…
