Sand Guard for Sponges and Gloves

I think having one of these at the bottom of the wash bucket is essential to keep dirt and other solids from getting on your glove or car wash sponge. It does what it's supposed to and the price isn't bad.

Pros
  • Great Craftsmanship
Cons
  • Goes Away

Sand Guard for Sponges and Gloves

I think one of these at the bottom of the wash bucket is needed to prevent dirt and other solids from getting onto the glove or wash sponge cars. It does what it's supposed to and the price isn't bad.

Pros
  • Sand Guard 2 1/2 in. high
Cons
  • matte packaging

Great grain! for car washes

These things will slide down the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket and let sand through and they work! If you're going off-road or just like to get dirty, you need one of these. I also use mine as a mini parts washer and as a screen type water barrier to clean small parts etc. An oddity was that Lowe's 5-gallon gray buckets only partially dropped this protection into the bucket. Probably bad buckets.

Pros
  • Grit Guard insert fits a 12 inch bucket.
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Great idea but may need some modifications

I took a few to wash my car (2 bucket system). I'm excited about this idea and saw the sand settle under the grate. The problem I have is keeping them still in the buckets. Despite what I've read of some other people saying that the Lowe's gray 5 gallon bucket with the Lowe logo is too small for the Grit Guard to go all the way up. below I have the opposite problem with these buckets. I bought these buckets in 2009 (several of them) and didn't buy the Yellow Guards until Spring 2014. Maybe they

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad but...
