Needs self repairing

Bought this for camping after years of carrying a zippered bag of McDonald's salt and pepper packets. I was finishing a trip and thought it was time for an upgrade. This shaker does the trick, but you'll need to do some DIY fixes as mentioned in the top review. I pasted two or three small circles of gorilla tape from a 1 inch roll into each lid. Instead of lots of spices on the lid where there were holes for the shaker, there are just a few small grains of salt and pepper. at the top of the…

Great shaker! for salt shakers

Well I just got my shaker and as another reviewer said I used gorilla tape but instead of trying to cut an exact 7/8 inch circle with my X-Acto knife I used just glued a 2 inch piece. Tape my bench, put a nickel on it, carefully cut the coin and peeled off a perfectly round circle of tape from the bench attached to the center of the cap. It needs to be wide enough to cover the holes in the lid, which the nickel did well! I've just ordered my second one after making sure this one works. TO…

3 *** as sold, 5 *** after remodeling

As many reviewers point out, there is a fundamental design flaw here that the manufacturer was able to fix very easily: the lid is tight on both sides , There is a gap between the lid and the shaker lid through which the product is dispensed. This means that when you open the lid, the granules of your product will squirt out. Reviewers note the use of different materials to solve this problem, and in my case I simply cut out a few circles from thin cardboard, just the right size to hold firmly…

I love this item except for one!

GSI 79500 Pepper Salt Shaker - Overall I really like this product. It's thick, hard plastic and looks solid. "Shaker" lids snap on/off for easy filling. not symmetrical - the salt compartment is 1.44 deep and holds about 2-3/4 teaspoons of table salt. The pepper compartment is .92 deep and holds approximately 1-1/2 teaspoons of finely ground pepper. Shaker holes are .078 diameter on both lids. CONS: The only thing I don't like as mentioned in other reviews is the leaking into the lids when…
