This mag float gets the job done but is inefficient. However, one cannot blame the product too much as it is simply the nature of the design. It's too small a magnet to put enough pressure on the glass. You'll pick up the algae from the glass, but you'll have to go over the same spot 10-20 times (if you're not scratching every day) depending on how stubborn it is.
