Very good cleaning paste.

Very good tip cleaner/tinning. This paste doesn't flake off like many others and seems to keep the tip in the can longer. We solder thousands of connections every day and this inventor is on every workbench. Watch out for the smoke, it's hard on the lungs!

Pros
  • Heavy duty construction
Cons
  • Expensive

Heavy Duty Soldering Iron Tip Cleaner

Ten (10) grams of solder paste appears to be a small amount. But it makes a big difference as only a small amount of paste is needed to clean your soldering iron tip amazingly well. I am satisfied with the product.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • thin

Advice only! when welding and soldering

This stuff works wonders. If you have a soldering tip, just the tip. Dip it in this paste when it's hot and it melts a little, paste it leaving the tip, just the tip, shiny and done. Rub it in a handpiece cleaner right after and enjoy a few more hours of this handpiece.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not sure

Now it's shiny and like new

I accidentally used lead-free solder and ruined the tip so bad I couldn't solder with it anymore. I heated it, dipped it in this garbage and wiped it off. Now it shines like new. I have never used lead free solder again and have never needed this stuff.

  • Dope πŸ”₯

it's not worth it. in tips

very expensive for what you get. This works a little better than a piece of solder with some rosin flux. However, using an acid-based flux on a piece of solder works better than this. it is too aggressive for routine maintenance, corroding the iron coating on the tips. I suggest if the rosin flux isn't enough to remove the oxidation just dip it in some sanitary flux, only do this if really needed.

Pros
  • good product for its price
Cons
  • compatibility

Amazing discovery! for soldering and soldering equipment

I used to struggle to keep the tips shiny and conductive with wire brushes and wet sponges. This stuff, while a bit pricey for a VERY small jar, works right out of the box and works great every time. My observation is that my joints are lighter with better flow and visible adhesion. It maintains tip luster for three or four solders, and a quick wipe of the sponge lasts twice or triple that between repeated dips. And each dip uses a very small amount of cleaner, so I expect this little jar to…

Pros
  • Combine with the ft-700 polisher for better results
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Should call this pasta "miracle "!

I recently messed up my favorite Hakko tip by foolishly contaminating it with something (perhaps silicone) that threw off all attempts to clean and re-tin it Solder back to acceptable condition. I've even tried cleaning the tip with a Scotchbrite sponge and then using the Thermaltronics Tip-Tinner (which is a decent product in itself) but that didn't help. I thought this tip didn't work, but I decided to try Hakko Cleaning Paste before I gave up. IMPRESSIVE! A 3 second dip in Hakko paste (with…

Pros
  • Tinned oxidized soldering tips and prolongs their life
Cons
  • Requires a socket

Hello ladies and gentlemen! also a computer network engineer, i also hold an FCC license to repair electronic radios, i can tell you that i have used dozens of soldering iron tip re-tinning compounds, mainly used to remove oxidation and deposits, and i can tell you that i have tried dozens of other brands that have been less than marginally effective. Compositions for retinning/cleaning solders and tips. I would give this brand an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10. Invest a little money and you will be…

Pros
  • Contains no diammonium phosphate, which reduces the lifespan of the handpiece
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model
