Great way to enjoy coffee!

A few months ago I noticed at a new coffee shop my wife and I went to that they had a coffee siphon. We tried it and we liked it. Ordered the Hario brand from Revain as it had a lot of good reviews. I am a home roaster and, in addition to my new coffee siphon, I already have several French Press systems, AeroPress and Chemex. Each offers a different coffee experience. The coffee siphon produces a clean cup of coffee. I also bought a mini butane burner to use in place of the nasty alcohol burner

Ridiculous scientific way to make tea

This works well for black leaf tea or oolong tea. Those that can thrive on boiling or slightly less for water temperature. Unfortunately, there are some green teas that would look really cool brewed, but I think the water would have to get too hot for it to brew, and a lot of green teas don't taste very good. I bought this for fun and figured I would only use it when I have company, but I use it every weekend. One thing I did differently was to buy a butane torch based on other reviews. It…

Who knew making coffee could be such a fun activity?

Bought for my wife for Valentine's Day to remember a romantic dinner a long time ago. If you watch a video about how to make coffee for this device, you might be a little intimidated; but experimenting together was a lot of fun, and now we've stopped the process and are constantly improving it. Remember - a "cup" of coffee here weighs 4 ounces, so we regularly make 3 cups, which equals 12 ounces and fits into the mugs we normally use. You could get away with 5 cups divided by two, but we only…

Great fun, simplicity, and a bloody good cup of coffee

As a chemical engineer, I've been very intrigued by this style of coffee making since I first saw it at a local coffee shop. It hasn't been that much time since I went online and bought this kit. I am very impressed with the quality of this coffee maker. Not only beautiful appearance, but everything is of excellent quality. The stand is solid and as far as I can tell the glass is great and close enough to Pyrex that it doesn't matter. I opted for a butane gas burner and figured it was worth the

A bit tricky but makes a good cup of coffee

Compared to the rather laborious process I've used with a French press in the past, this is a fairly easy way to make coffee. So I totally understand if the review readers disagree with me. However, I have found that the Hario Siphon Coffee Maker is much easier to clean and the coffee comes out smooth, strong and delicious (no grinding). Before purchasing this product, I suggest you consider some additional purchases to make things quicker and easier. The first thing I would recommend is…
