Excellent braking performance

Excellent braking performance, definitely better than OEM; However, they are very loud, ie they creak when you stop slowly. Not a quick or faint squeak, just a piercing, continuous squeak - brakes disassembled, cleaned, shims checked and everything seems fine. Lasted a year and will be replaced. It would be great for a trailer, but not for a car that you drive around town every day.

Pros
  • Extremely high coefficient of friction
Cons
  • Good but not great

Holds up well after recommended break-in procedure

Holds up well after recommended break-in procedure. I don't see much noise from them. When I installed them I put anti-squeak material between the pad and the gasket and outside the gasket. Not sure what's going on that other people are complaining about being loud. They say they're not recommended for everyday driving, but I tend to drive confidently, so I bought them for their supposed resistance to warm fade. I haven't tested it yet, but am satisfied so far. I would be interested to know how

Pros
  • Extremely fade resistant
Cons
  • Non-Automatic

Stop great buy headphones too!

They are loud. And it comes from someone who used to have Hawk pads. First set of Hawk Truck Pads. They grip just like you would expect and greatly improve stopping power. But these are perhaps the loudest pads I've ever had. Creaks, squeaks and sounds like metal all the time. And before anyone says maybe you didn't install them properly, I make a living at the dealership. I've braked this truck (my own) a few times and I've had the same truck before and I've done brakes on it. I used to always

Pros
  • SD (SuperDuty) - Heavy truck brake compound
Cons
  • Some problems

Costs money! - Replacement parts

With about 76,000 miles the factory front brakes on my 2014 Toyota Tundra have seen better days. After doing some research I decided to replace the pads and rotors with a mid-range rotor and upgraded GT pads available at my local parts store. The hope was to improve braking performance over stock. After the "upgrade" I was less than impressed. The braking performance has not increased compared to the series, but has even been significantly reduced. It caused some anxiety under braking because I

Pros
  • Recommended if the load is too high
Cons
  • Some small things
