It helps a little - and that might be all you need.

This product does not solve serious Wi-Fi signal strength problems associated with a "dead zone". I bought this antenna and installed it on my Linksys WRT54G in my computer room upstairs and at the "weak spot" downstairs where I usually work, the signal strength on the Apple Airport status meter went up about 1 bar. However, this did not help. my whole problem. To do this I had to add a second router and run WDS between them. I now get a full 5v5 Wi-Fi signal throughout my house. This is a good

100% signal strength in my entire apartment

My apartment is about 900 square meters. My wife likes to use her laptop on the kitchen table, which is quite a distance from my wireless router. Her average signal strength was around 60-70%, which I believe was the cause of the shaking and pause she was experiencing while streaming videos. Also, since there are 9 other wireless networks within range of our network, we are experiencing random disconnects from our router. In an attempt to disrupt the neighborhood networks, I bought this antenna

Outstanding product!

I purchased a Hawking directional antenna for use on a desktop computer that was hidden under a desk and was unable to get an acceptable Wi-Fi signal. Note that this device can be used as both a transmitting and receiving antenna with equally good results. My computer has a PCI Wi-Fi card with small 4" OEM antennas on the back that don't work. I placed the antenna in a corner about 1 foot from the ceiling, which shows the general direction of my Wi-Fi router, which is in another room of the…

Finally something worked!

Just a short review, BUY! I tried many things from power amps and antennas with minimal success until I ordered these. I bought a 2.4GHz wireless security camera at a heavily discounted store and couldn't get a consistent signal from the top floor into the kitchen. My home is about 3,500 square feet and the line of sight from the camera to the monitor is about 150 feet. I would say that this antenna at least doubled the transmitted signal. In the bedroom and family room I would get patchy…

Great for computers and accessories

Did you know that antennas can be used for both transmitting and receiving? basement window) and repeat locally in my living room. She works great! This antenna can only receive the signal while it is being transmitted, minus some losses due to interference such as walls, (dirty) windows etc. So if you use it for reception, only expect the same quality as when it was delivered ( except for some losses ). Dimensions: 8.5" high, 4" wide, 2" deep, cable approx. 60" long.

Definitely increases range, but location and orientation are key

This device will definitely extend your Wi-Fi range, but finding a good location with the right device orientation can be a tedious process. I highly recommend using the FREE WiFi network scanner software called "inSSIDer" to help you locate your device. The software is available at: [.] NOTES. The Alfa AWUS036H USB2 WiFi adapter works well with this antenna. For other WiFi adapters with detachable antennas, you can further increase the range by using an amplifier-booster (e.g. Hawking HSB2)…

location location location

it was either this product or a telescope like antenna. The good thing is that the cable/connector cable is long enough to try many different angles. We found something that would be impossible with a cantenna. Placing this antenna in the same spot as a decent unidirectional antenna will give it about the same signal strength, but by placing it in many different locations we've found one that gives us a signal that's more reliable and faster than using one 9dbi unidirectional antenna antenna…

Definitely works for network products

I think it's important to manage your expectations of this product. It certainly improves the signal on my Wi-Fi router, as per my wife's experience. We used to lose connection and sometimes not at all to our internal network, but since I installed this product these incidents are a thing of the past. The connection isn't continuous, but it's always there and never breaks. My router is about 50 feet and one floor up from the computer via a plenum (space between floors) and 4 walls. I chose this
