I have used Hawking devices including their access points and routers for years. We have used this wireless USB hub on 3 different devices and it always works. I've used several cheap nameless devices, all of which failed in a short period of time. Save yourself the hassle, spend a little more and get this quality device.

The website requires a download tab, you can find the download in the product description, scroll down a little to the support tab. Also, it comes with a CD, which is stupid and a huge waste for the environment, both for the manufacturing (packaging, instructions for use) and for me to get rid of it without even unpacking it. This is a great product! I will be buying another one for another laptop soon.

Works well but be sure to follow instructions. First install the drivers (using the included CD or visit their website with a ready flash drive on another computer), then restart your computer, plug it in and let it do its work. Choose a network, enter your password, and you're done. I wasn't sure what to expect as it's not Cisco, Linksys etc but I've had it for a few days now and haven't had any crashes or issues. I chose this one because it was less than $20.

Had to return Linksys because I couldn't load drivers on my old Compaq Presario (Vista desktop) and then decided to do it - it only took 5 minutes before I started surfing the wifi , 5 bar throughout. I just gave up my ISP as it has already paid for itself. I would recommend a USB extension cable and docking station to get closer to the window. Outstanding technique. Works as intended. Boot delay due to the distance to the router, but I also know that the router itself is not very good, I always have problems with it. it's the one from the ISP. The software downloaded from the website for my old Mac was east to get started. It's a simple and affordable solution to moving your desktop or extending the reach of your laptop. I use not the first time, they work well.

I needed a desktop wireless adapter in case my internet goes down so I can connect to my phone's hotspot. The Hawking HW17ACU is very fast - I can connect to my home WiFi at 1.3Gbps, which is technically just as fast/faster than my 1Gbps wired connection. It heats up during use, I haven't tried it for a very long time, so I don't know if heat will be an issue if used for a long time.
