My son really liked these boots. He said they were comfortable. He was excited because now "he doesn't slip anymore because my boots have grip!" We live in Colorado and go hiking often. Unfortunately the rubber band broke after the first use. I contacted the company directly to inquire about a replacement. The company was quick to respond and sent us a new pair of boots after sending us a photo of the laces snapping. We received new boots within a few days.

UPDATE: First day of school was July 21st. It was the first day she wore them. Today is August 19th and the right boot fell apart completely. The shoes came off from below. She came home from school with a rubber band tying her shoes together. I'm "out of the returns window" because I bought them on July 12th. My daughter wears a size 1. Excellent Proactive Customer Service! Bought matching walking shoes for my 4 and 5 year old boys for a day hike. The fit was good and they held up well on the trail. My 5 year old son's boots have held up well. My 4 year old son's boots had one of the elastic laces untied the first day of our hike (and the first day he wore them).
